My experience

I have 30 years of experience working as a counsellor / mental health social worker for many organisations and my Marrickville private practice is now celebrating its first anniversary.

I am a mental health social worker and have an extensive range of clinical experience. I have worked in trauma services including domestic violence and sexual assault services, sexual health, drug and alcohol, fertility services and in termination clinics. I have worked in child and adult community health teams, as a couples counsellor at Relationships Australia, and in a university counselling service with staff and students. This very broad experience has supported me in developing skills in a wide range of areas with many issues including working with depression, anxiety, loss grief and trauma.  

Over the years, I have trained in many counselling models but strongly believe that no matter what model a counsellor works from, the most important ingredient in therapy is the client - counsellor relationship. My most recent trainings have been in an approach called Internal Family Systems, RET (Radical Exposure Tapping, Level II. Advanced Practice) and in DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy). Funding to subsidise counselling

Medicare
I can see you under the Medicare Better Access program if you are referred by a GP with a Mental Health Treatment Plan. There will be a gap fee.

Psychological Support Services
PSS provides up to 12 sessions of free counselling for people who live, work or go to school in the Central and Eastern Sydney region, with  mild to moderate mental health concerns, who may benefit from short-term treatment, and are unable to access other available services including Better Access (Medicare subsidised psychological services).  

​You are likely to be eligible if you are 25 or under, come from a Culturally & Linguistically Diverse Background, or have post-natal depression and a child under 12 months of age.​You can find further information to assess your eligibility  here. 

SIRA
I am an accredited Workers Compensation provider under SIRA.

Cancellation Fee

You will be charged the full fee for your appointment where there is leass than 24 hours notification of cancellation.
